Julien Frère
Director of Centre Activate · Psycho-social counsellor, audio-psycho-phonology practitioner, functional medicine coach (FMCA)
Centre Activate was born from an observation: neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders call for care that goes beyond the boundaries of individual disciplines. By combining advances in neuroscience with proven therapeutic methods, Julien has designed an integrative approach where each modality reinforces the others.
treating the person, not the symptom
Conventional medicine excels at diagnosis and acute treatment, yet it struggles with chronic, multifactorial conditions: ADHD, tinnitus, vertigo, neurodegenerative diseases. The specialty-based approach isolates each symptom; the patient moves from one specialist to the next without anyone connecting the pieces of the puzzle.
Centre Activate was designed to fill that gap. Every programme combines — simultaneously rather than sequentially — several complementary modalities: neuromotor rehabilitation, neuro-auditory stimulation, photobiomodulation, vagal stimulation, functional medicine. This simultaneous deployment is not a luxury; it is the condition for each intervention's effects to potentiate one another.
Julien oversees all therapeutic protocols and remains the primary point of contact for cases that demand a cross-disciplinary perspective: those where a single programme is not enough, where comorbidities overlap, and where conventional care pathways have reached their limits.
three disciplines, a single perspective
Julien's unconventional background allows him to draw on analytical frameworks that conventional training keeps apart.
Psycho-social counselling
Listening, understanding family dynamics, assessing psychological burden. For children and adults alike, the human dimension determines a programme's success as much as the technology.
Audio-psycho-phonology
A trained Tomatis method practitioner. The ear is a regulatory organ: by stimulating auditory circuits, we influence attention, language, motor skills and emotional balance.
Functional medicine
FMCA-certified coach. The gut-brain axis, oxidative stress, enzymatic cofactor deficiencies: biological levers that functional assessments can identify and correct.
what Julien has built
Centre Activate now brings together physiotherapists, audio-psycho-phonology consultants, vestibular specialists and programme advisors, spread between Geneva and Lausanne. Each practitioner has been selected for their clinical skill and their ability to work in coordination with the centre's other disciplines.
The programmes cover neurodevelopmental disorders in children (ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum, stuttering) and neurological conditions in adults (post-stroke, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, vertigo, tinnitus, electrosensitivity, fibromyalgia). Every programme is built on the same principle: multiple modalities deployed simultaneously, basic health insurance reimbursement for physiotherapy, measurable progress evaluation.
Julien has also structured the centre's administrative pathway so that patients can benefit from basic health insurance reimbursement for physiotherapy, supplemented by ASCA/RME coverage for functional medicine. The goal: ensuring that the integrative approach remains accessible, without financial burden becoming a barrier to care.
cases that call for a holistic perspective
Julien intervenes personally when the complexity of a case extends beyond the scope of a single programme.
Overlapping comorbidities
ADHD and tinnitus, ASD and vestibular disorders, fibromyalgia and TMJ: when several conditions overlap, coordinating across programmes demands a cross-disciplinary perspective.
Failed care pathways
The patient has seen several specialists with no satisfactory outcome. It becomes necessary to revisit the case with an integrative lens, identifying the underlying mechanisms that each specialist treated in isolation.
Bespoke protocols
Some situations do not fit any standard programme. Julien then designs a tailored protocol that combines modalities according to the clinical profile, the stage of the condition and the patient's goals.
Coordination with the medical network
Neurologists, ENT specialists, psychiatrists, paediatricians: Julien liaises with the external medical team to ensure the programme integrates into the existing care pathway without gaps or redundancy.
a complex situation
deserves a precise response
Free 30-minute information session, no commitment. Together we assess the situation and determine whether the Activate approach can offer something the conventional pathway has not covered.
