Jonathan Mathieu
Audio-psycho-phonology consultant, art therapist, micronutritionist
Concert violinist, clinician and nutritionist: Jonathan brings together three areas of expertise that rarely converge in a single practitioner. His intimate understanding of the musical ear informs his practice of audio-psycho-phonology, whilst his training in micronutrition enables him to work simultaneously on the neurological terrain of his patients.
listening therapy, enriched by the stage and nutrition
Audio-psycho-phonology rests on a core principle: the ear is not merely a receptive organ — it is a regulatory one. By stimulating the auditory circuits through filtered music, one can act upon attention, language, motor skills and emotional balance. Jonathan masters this approach from two angles: that of a clinician trained in the Tomatis method, and that of a musician who understands, through the experience of the concert stage, what it truly means to listen.
His certification in art therapy allows him to integrate the creative and emotional dimension into his protocols: sound is not solely a neurological stimulus — it is also a vehicle for expression. As for his diploma in micronutrition, it opens a biological avenue that most audio-psycho-phonology practitioners do not address: optimising the neurological terrain through the right nutritional substrates amplifies the effects of auditory stimulation.
This combination — listening, expression, nutrition — constitutes the distinctive character of the care that Jonathan provides within the centre.
who is this care intended for
Jonathan designs individualised therapeutic programmes, combining auditory stimulation, nutritional counselling and art-therapeutic support.
ADHD, DYS disorders, autism spectrum
Neuro-auditory stimulation for attention, language and sensory integration. Coordinated with the centre's Giger MD and functional medicine programmes.
Tinnitus and auditory hypersensitivity
Rehabilitation of central auditory circuits through audio-psycho-phonology. A complementary approach to photobiomodulation and vagal stimulation.
The musical ear and stage fright
Ear training for professional musicians and conservatoire students. Listening precision, intonation accuracy, performance anxiety management.
Optimising the neurological terrain
Nutritional assessment and targeted recommendations to support cerebral plasticity, neurotransmitter production and resistance to oxidative stress.
from the conservatoire to the clinic
Trained in the Tomatis method under leading practitioners, Jonathan built his clinical practice at the crossroads of two worlds. His career as a concert violinist gave him an experiential understanding of the mechanisms of listening that academic training alone cannot convey: knowing what it means to hear an orchestra, to adjust one's intonation in real time, to manage the stress of performing before two thousand people.
This experience directly informs his therapeutic practice. When he accompanies a dyslexic child whose audio-vocal loop is malfunctioning, or a tinnitus patient whose auditory cortex has become dysregulated, he draws upon an understanding of sound that goes beyond the technical framework. His dual role as clinician and high-level musician gives him a singular perspective on hearing disorders.
In parallel, his training in micronutrition (FMCA) and his certification in art therapy complement this approach with two dimensions that auditory stimulation alone does not cover: the biochemical terrain and emotional expression.
