1. Initial VNG assessment
Care systematically begins with a videonystagmography (VNG) assessment, a reference examination allowing precise identification of the origin of vertigo (posterior canal, horizontal, central, etc.).
2. Protocol adapted according to diagnosis
If the vertigo is BPPV: treatment begins with one or more liberatory maneuvers (Epley, Gufoni or Semont type) to reposition the otoliths.
In case of persistent or non-positional vertigo:
Active exercises on posturo-dynamic platform, to strengthen balance strategies.
Rotatory chair, for rehabilitation of vestibulo-ocular and vestibulo-spinal responses, particularly in cases of multisensory integration disorders.
3. Comprehensive care for chronic vertigo
When vertigo becomes chronic, it is often linked to a combination of factors:
an unbalanced neurovegetative or inflammatory terrain (digestive, metabolic...),
persistent neck pain,
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
In these cases, we offer:
A functional medicine assessment to identify systemic imbalances contributing to symptoms.
Specialized care in oro-maxillo-facial physiotherapy, in collaboration with our expert therapists in TMJ dysfunctions and cervical pain.
4. Why vertigo is often multifactorial
Many patients suffering from vertigo do not have a single cause. The coexistence of cervicogenic disorders, TMJ dysfunctions, and an inflammatory or anxious terrain creates a vicious circle: muscle tensions, sympathetic hyperactivation, proprioception disturbances... This model explains why an integrative approach is essential to regain lasting balance.
